Hard Light
Group show
Contemporary work from the southern edge.
Mira Okonkwo
Six works by Mira Okonkwo. Oil, ash, aluminium, sand, salvaged tile, and video.
Okonkwo charts what remains when the waterline withdraws: salt crust, notational scars on metal, ledgers written on tile. Low Tide, No Horizon holds the gallery in a state of after — the sea gone, the edge still wet.
Gallery
We show work that keeps its salt — made at the southern edge, where climate, coast, and craft refuse to separate.
KESTREL & VANE is a contemporary gallery in Chippendale, Sydney. We programme solo and group exhibitions with an eye for material intelligence — surfaces that remember weather, processes that leave a ledger.
The rooms are small on purpose. Come close. Stay longer than you planned. Entry is free; conversation is welcome.
After the tide returns, the light gets hard.
Group show
Private look at Low Tide, No Horizon — or a quiet hour with a single work.
Openings, previews, and the occasional letter from the southern edge. No noise.
