Contemporary work from the southern edge.
Kestrel & Vane shows contemporary work from the southern edge — art made where the city runs out and the water begins.
For her first solo exhibition, Mira Okonkwo spent three seasons on the tidal flats south of Botany Bay, keeping a ledger of everything the water left behind: salt, ash, silt, forty-eight tiles pulled from a demolished ferry wharf. Low Tide, No Horizon is the ledger written back — six works that index weather, depth and salvage the way a tide table indexes the sea.
Nothing in the room is picturesque. Everything is evidence.
